Carlo is a published author of books in Maltese, his native language, which include “L-Anġlu tal-Lament” (“The Angel of Sorrow”), “Iż-Żeffiena tal-Kerubini” (“The Cherubs’ Dancer”) and the latest instalment being “Is-Serafina tal-Funtana” (The Fountain’s Seraphim). He has also published a book for children called “Ċisju il-Fenek taċ-Ċarruta”.
In 2015 he was a National Book Prize finalist after “Iż-Żeffiena tal-Kerubini” was shortlisted as best Maltese novel of the year.

Apart from this, he has also worked on varying forms of art related to his books, even lending his face to those who are socially excluded by means of a photographic shoot and various short stories. He has also had a short story used in Science in the City, an art installation at the St. James Centre for Creativity, and has also been involved with various media stations to promote a message of social inclusion and the eradication of poverty.
